The Priest

This is one of the first that started it all. At the time I was really getting into fly tying and designing patterns my family had a lot of white laying hens so there was an abundance of white feathers kicking around. It just happened to be hunting season and one of my uncles had shot a deer and given me the tail so I was tying a bunch of different white patterns. Flipping through my salmon flies book I saw the "Priest". I tied it a few different ways, but a cousin of mine who was really into fly fishing and tying liked the way this particular one looked. He asked if I could come up with some other flies similar to this and that's what really started my streamer tying. This fly took a 13lb Atlantic on its first outing.
