My Magog This is the second pattern that really started my interest in streamer tying. I had seen the hairwing version a few times and after receiving a salmon fly tying book for Christmas one year, I tied the hairwing patterns as they were shown in the book. One day I was tying up some "Priests" substituting hackles for bucktail and I realized I could do it with almost any hairwing pattern, giving them more action. After finishing the Priest pattern I tied up a Magog Smelt and Herb Johnson Special in the same featherwing manner. That was around 1992.
