Major Blizzard Another one of my originals I designed specifically for fishing dark and dreary days on the West Branch of the Penobscot River in the shadows of Mt. Katahdin, Baxter State Park, Maine. I put the finishing touches on this pattern, including its name, one spring when I caught a 21 inch salmon on it during a snow squall. It is very effective where shiner and smelt live, producing especially well on dark days or just before sun rise and right after sun set.
