Granite Hill Smelt

This is my Granite Hill Smelt streamer, named after the area where I grew up, "Granite Hill" on the Manchester/Hallowell town line near Augusta, Maine.  A lot of the granite mining done in Maine was done in this area, hence the nickname Granite Hill.  There are many quarries there that have long been abandoned after striking a water vein.  People illegally stocked bass and trout in most of these quarries and I grew up fishing them.  The color combinations in the fly remind me of what it looks like at the "Quarries" so I thought it was a fitting name.  This fly was tied for Don Moulton of Fairfield, Maine, who is quite the tyer himself.
The 2 bottom pictures are the fly in its plastic, fleece lined case with display card.  This is how all of our display flys are delivered.
