This is a graphite drawing of "Sky", a black lab from California, with a hen mallard she has retrieved.  This drawing was commissioned in March of 2007  and was drawn with Derwent graphic pencils that are made from the purest clays and finest quality graphite for a very smooth line making them ideal for  technical, realistic drawing such as this one.  It has been drawn on a  piece of custom cut 11x14 inch Bristol plate (hot press) board that is 100% cotton fiber  and acid free.  It also has an optional protective finish that has been applied in such a manner as to give it the feel of an antique photograph.
