Blue Jay

I tied this pattern while trying to deviate from the "W.B." series. I had gotten on a kick with Eurasian Jay since I had been tying wet flies with them and making my streamers look like them was an interesting idea. Eurasian Jay is actually a substitute for the American Blue Jay so I thought that would make a cool looking fly. This pattern resembles a Blue Jay's shoulder feather, but it is also a great smelt and parr imitation and has taken nice salmon in the spring time.
